In the course of the League of Arab States mission's meetings to monitor the Egyptian presidential elections of 2024, Ambassador Khalil Ibrahim Al-Thawadi, Assistant Secretary-General and head of the mission, met with Dr. Eman Karim, General Supervisor of the National Council for Persons with Disabilities, on 4 December at the Council's headquarters.
Ambassador Al-Thawadi commended the Council for its efforts, particularly in supporting the right of persons with disabilities to political participation. He emphasised the League's interest in this vital voter category, acknowledging its impactful role in society and positive contributions to the success of various electoral processes in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
Dr. Karim outlined the Council's initiatives, highlighting the "Your Vote is Your Right" campaign aimed at promoting electoral awareness and encouraging positive participation among voters with disabilities in the upcoming presidential elections.
Both sides underscored the importance of collaboration among all stakeholders in the electoral process to ensure its success and fulfil the anticipated outcomes.
