An official source at the General Secretariat of the Arab League said that the visit comes within the framework of continuous communication with Iraq and support the government's efforts to restore stability and enhance the balance in Iraq's relations with its Arab environment, especially in the recent period that has witnessed a clear recovery in these relations.
The source added that the League supports the stability and security of Iraq as an important key to the enhancement of Arab national security, and that Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit will speak during his meetings with Iraqi leaders the importance of preserving the gains achieved by eliminating ISIS and reconstruction and ensure that this threat does not return, and to keep Iraq away from regional tensions Strengthening its economic and security relations with all Arab countries.
