The General Secretariat of the League of Arab States (Media and Communication Sector – Department of Research and Strategic Studies) is convening the Third Annual Forum of Think Tanks in Arab Countries under the theme "The Role of Think Tanks in Employing Artificial Intelligence to Enhance Informed Decision-Making", on 23-24 November at the General Secretariat headquarters in Cairo.
The forum is part of the 2025 annual scientific plan of the Department of Research and Strategic Studies. It provides a platform for dialogue among experts, specialists, and decision-makers, and seeks to examine the relationship between think tanks and artificial intelligence, highlighting both the opportunities AI offers and the challenges it presents.
The forum further aims to achieve several objectives, including: acquainting participants with the role of artificial intelligence in enhancing research and analysis in think tanks; discussing the opportunities provided by AI technologies in data analysis and decision-making; reviewing the challenges associated with the use of AI and ways to address them; and presenting practical examples and applications that can support think tanks in benefiting from AI.
To advance the objectives of the annual forum, the following themes will be addressed: enhancing the use of artificial intelligence in research and analysis — tools, techniques, and opportunities; tools and methods of strategic analysis in research and analytical fields; challenges and risks associated with the use of artificial intelligence in research and analysis; and showcasing successful experiences of think tanks in data analysis using artificial intelligence tools, predictive models, and scenario analysis.
On the sidelines of the forum, which has been marked by the high-level participation of numerous research and strategic studies centres across the Arab world, an exhibition of publications from think tanks in the member states of the League of Arab States was also organised.
