A meeting was held between the Economic Affairs Sector, headed by Ambassador Dr. Ali bin Ibrahim Al-Maliki, Assistant Secretary-General and head of the Sector, and a delegation from the Kuwait Scientific Club, led by Mr. Ali Kazem Al-Jumah, Secretary-General of the Club. The meeting focused on developing a proposed mechanism to promote future cooperation between the League of Arab States and the Kuwait Scientific Club. This cooperation aims to support Arab youth in the fields of innovation, invention, entrepreneurship, and scientific research across Arab countries.
The meeting also addressed the organisational and logistical arrangements for the participation of the League of Arab States and several specialised Arab organisations in the 16th International Exhibition of Inventions in the Middle East 2026, to be held in Kuwait from 8 to 11 February 2026.
Ambassador Dr. Al-Maliki stated that the League’s participation in preparing for and taking part in this significant exhibition reflects its ongoing efforts to support youth, innovation, and entrepreneurship within the framework of advancing economic and social development in Arab countries.
It is noteworthy that this exhibition is the second largest international invention exhibition after the Geneva International Exhibition. The first edition was held in Kuwait in 2007, and since then it has attracted numerous Arab and international entities interested in inventions and inventors, including both official and non-official bodies such as:
* Inventors
* Public and private schools
* Educational institutes and universities
* Private sector companies and manufacturers
* Businesspeople and investors
The previous edition, held in February 2025, featured 180 inventors representing 42 countries, including 17 Arab countries. Participants presented 230 inventions across various scientific and technological fields, and a number of financial awards were granted by relevant Arab entities.
The General Secretariat of the League of Arab States will contribute a financial award during the 2026 exhibition. In addition, several specialised Arab organisations will present prizes for the most outstanding projects, with the goal of fostering sustainable partnerships and leveraging opportunities provided by the club through its various activities and events across Arab countries. These efforts aim to ensure active Arab participation in upcoming editions of the exhibition and to promote an environment conducive to invention and innovation in the Arab region.
