The 90th meeting of the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Ministers of Housing and Construction will be held at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States at the ministerial level on 22-23 October, with the participation of the following member states of the Executive Office: the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Republic of Iraq, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the State of Palestine, the State of Qatar, the Union of the Comoros, the Syrian Arab Republic, and the Kingdom of Morocco.
The meeting will discuss a number of key items on its agenda, including the latest developments regarding the Sixth Arab Ministerial Forum on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development, to be held under the theme "Urban Sustainability: For Future Generations," scheduled to take place from 14 to 16 December 2025 in Doha, Qatar.
Discussions will also cover the selection of the theme for Arab Housing Day 2026, cooperation with the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), and a presentation on the main outcomes of the second resumed session of UN-Habitat, held from 29 to 30 May 2025.
The meeting will further review progress in implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the implementation plan of the Arab Strategy for Housing and Urban Development, particularly with regard to the support provided by UN-Habitat to Arab countries in preparing their national reports, as well as the development of a regional report on progress achieved in implementing the Arab Strategy for Housing and Sustainable Urban Development and the New Urban Agenda.
In addition, the meeting will discuss technical support for the housing sector in the Republic of Somalia, the Republic of Yemen, and the State of Palestine.
