Ambassador Mohannad Saleh Lajouzi, Assistant Secretary-General of the League of Arab States and Director-General of the Arab Fund for Technical Assistance to African Countries, received Ambassador Taleb Akhyar Abdi Salem Ababi, Director-General of the Mauritanian Diplomatic Academy, on
23 September at the Fund's headquarters, as part of his visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt.
At the outset of the meeting, Ambassador Lajouzi welcomed the Director-General of the Mauritanian Diplomatic Academy and his accompanying delegation, expressing appreciation for their visit.
For his part, the Director-General conveyed his sincere gratitude to Ambassador Lajouzi for the warm reception accorded to him and his delegation. He commended the quality and substance of the discussions held during the meeting and presented an overview of the key programmes and projects undertaken by the Mauritanian Diplomatic Academy.
The two sides discussed avenues for enhancing cooperation in training Mauritanian diplomatic personnel through programmes conducted at the Mauritanian Diplomatic Academy in Nouakchott, focusing on priority areas.
In conclusion, Ambassador Lajouzi welcomed the proposals put forward by the Director-General and reaffirmed the commitment of the Arab Fund for Technical Assistance to African Countries to supporting the efforts of the Mauritanian Diplomatic Academy and broadening areas of cooperation, with a view to contributing to the training of African diplomatic personnel and strengthening joint Arab-African action.
