    Date: 11/08/2025

Ambassador Mohannad Saleh Lajouzi, Assistant Secretary-General of the League of Arab States and Director-General of the Arab Fund for Technical Assistance to African Countries, signed two memoranda of understanding (MoU) with the Egyptian-African Society for Cardiology and Research, represented by Dr. Ahmed Ashraf Issa, President of the Society, and the Friends of the National Heart Institute, represented by Dr. Ghada Ali Musa Qazamel, Chairperson of the Society's Board of Directors. The signing took place on 10 August at the headquarters of the Arab Fund for Technical Assistance to African Countries.

The cooperation protocol includes several provisions aimed at strengthening joint efforts in the field of cardiovascular disease, through the provision of technical support to African countries, as well as to the least developed Arab-African countries. This will be achieved by organising medical workshops for doctors in African countries and implementing training programmes for African personnel at various levels in the field of cardiovascular medicine.
