The General Secretariat of the League of Arab States strongly condemns the flagrant Israeli aggression against the town of Beit Jinn in the Damascus countryside, carried out at dawn on 28 November, which resulted in the killing of a number of innocent civilians.
While the League of Arab States denounces Israel’s continued violations and attacks against Syria, including its incursions into the buffer zone and adjacent areas in clear breach of international law and the 1974 Disengagement Agreement, it calls upon the international community—represented by the Security Council and all forces working for peace in the Middle East—to shoulder their responsibilities in curbing Israeli aggression and impunity towards Syria and the wider region. It further urges an end to policies that foment discord and fuel conflicts, and calls for compelling Israel to cease these attacks and withdraw immediately from the Syrian territories it occupied after 8 December 2014.
