A delegation from the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States, headed by Ambassador Dr. Fayed Mustafa, Assistant Secretary-General and head of the Palestine and Occupied Arab Territories Sector, participated in a High-Level Coordination Meeting of the Global Alliance for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Riyadh on 26 October.
The meeting, co-chaired by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the European Union, and Norway, discussed the means to translate the New York Declaration on the Implementation of the Two-State Solution into concrete steps and practical measures that would enhance prospects for security, peace, and stability in the region.
It also examined means of supporting the Palestinian Authority and humanitarian efforts in the Gaza Strip with the objective of achieving a sustainable peace based on the two-state solution and the establishment of an independent, sovereign Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
