The Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, is set to arrive in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on 1 June as part of a ministerial-level delegation from the Arab-Islamic Committee tasked with monitoring the evolving war in the Gaza Strip.
Gamal Roshdy, the official spokesperson for the Secretary-General, stated that the delegation is scheduled to meet with His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan.
The spokesman added that the delegation had planned to visit Ramallah for a meeting with President Mahmoud Abbas of the State of Palestine. However, the occupying power
obstructed the visit.
The Secretary-General condemned the occupying power's high-handed decision in the strongest terms, describing it as a continued breach of international law and a clear manifestation of the occupation’s persistent efforts to isolate the Palestinian people and their leadership.
