The Arab Coordination Meeting at the level of Permanent Representatives to the League of Arab States convened on 1 June at the General Secretariat to review and coordinate ongoing preparations for the tenth session of the Meeting of Permanent Representatives to the League of Arab States and Ambassadors of the European Union Political and Security Committee, as well as the sessions of the Strategic Cooperation Working Groups, scheduled to take place in Brussels on 19 June.
The meeting was chaired by His Excellency Ambassador Amjad Al-Adayleh, Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to the Arab Republic of Egypt and Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States, in his capacity as President of the League Council at the Ministerial Level. The delegation of the General Secretariat was headed by His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Khaled bin Mohamed Manzalawi, Assistant Secretary-General and head of the International Political Affairs Sector. During the session, Permanent Representatives of the Arab Member States were briefed on the latest developments related to the preparation of the upcoming meetings and engaged in discussions regarding the draft joint statement to be adopted.
Ambassador Manzalawi said that the primary objective of these meetings is to further deepen Arab-European relations and reinforce mechanisms of cooperation between the two sides—particularly in light of the nearly three-year hiatus since the last such engagement. He highlighted that Arab-European cooperation remains one of the most significant frameworks established by the League of Arab States with international partners.
The participating representatives expressed their appreciation for the efforts undertaken by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the General Secretariat in ensuring the success of these meetings. They also reaffirmed their commitment to advancing joint Arab-European cooperation toward broader and more ambitious horizons, in line with the shared aspirations of both sides.
