  • League condemns horrific crimes committed against civilians in El Fasher
    التاريخ: 2025/10/28

The League of Arab States is following with deep concern the developments in El Fasher following the decision of the armed forces to withdraw, as well as UN and media reports on horrific crimes being committed against civilians trapped in the city.

While condemning in the strongest terms the crimes against innocent and defenseless civilians, including the elderly, women, and children, the League calls for an immediate and complete cessation of hostilities in this city, which has been under siege by the Rapid Support Forces for more than two years, despite UN Security Council Resolution 2736 (2024) demanding the immediate lifting of the siege. The League of Arab States reiterates its call for the protection of civilians, the safe and unhindered departure of those wishing to leave the city, the delivery of humanitarian aid to El Fasher and its surroundings, and for all those responsible for violations to be held accountable.

The League of Arab States affirms that the current situation poses a serious threat to Sudan’s stability, territorial integrity, and to regional peace and security. It underscores the need to coordinate all efforts to exert effective pressure to end the unprecedented violence and to work earnestly towards restoring peace and stability in the country.
