Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, is travelling to Beirut on 27 October for a two-day visit.
Gamal Roshdy, the Secretary-General’s spokesperson, stated that Mr. Aboul Gheit is scheduled to attend the opening session of the 21st Arab Media Forum and the regional conference on international judicial cooperation in combating terrorism. The conference is organised by the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States in cooperation with the European Union and the Lebanese Ministry of Justice, under the patronage of the President of the Lebanese Republic.
The spokesperson added that Mr. Aboul Gheit will also hold meetings with the President of the Republic, the Prime Minister, and the Speaker of Parliament to reaffirm the League of Arab States' support for the Lebanese government in asserting its sovereignty over all Lebanese territories, particularly in light of the ongoing Israeli attacks on Lebanon.
