  • Aboul Gheit denounces the Nabulsi roundabout massacre
    التاريخ: 2024/02/29

Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, strongly condemned the massacre perpetrated by the Israeli occupation forces in the Nabulsi roundabout in the northern Gaza Strip, which resulted in the martyrdom of over 100 Palestinians. Mr. Aboul Gheit characterised it as a barbaric act of extreme brutality, displaying a flagrant disregard for human lives.

Gamal Roshdy, the spokesman for the Secretary-General, said Mr. Aboul Gheit strongly condemned the occupation forces' ongoing targeting of civilians. He described it as a war crime and a crime against humanity, particularly following the siege that has left 2.3 million Palestinians in the Gaza Strip facing both hunger and bullets.
The spokesman elaborated that recent weeks saw the execution of a systematic plan to obstruct aid delivery to the people of the Gaza Strip. This resulted in the distressing scene at the Nabulsi roundabout, where Palestinians seeking their share of food aid were targeted after enduring weeks of starvation.
Mr. Aboul Gheit emphasised that a ceasefire has become an unavoidable necessity to prevent hundreds of thousands from succumbing to death due to starvation or bombings. He urged all international powers to intensify pressure on the occupying state to halt this daily massacre and adhere to international law and humanitarian principles, asserting that no state should be exempt from accountability.
