    التاريخ: 2019/08/20

An official source at the General Secretariat of the Arab League said that the situation in Yemen raises further alarm and concern, especially in light of the recent disturbing developments in the south, especially in the interim capital of Aden, and the negative effects that these developments have on Yemen's stability, national unity and regional integration. He stressed that tearing the unity of Yemen will not be in the interest of the people, and will only lead to further fragmentation and unrest.

The source added that bringing comprehensive peace and stability to this country should become the first objective of all parties, which calls for a different approach to the Yemeni situation as a whole based on restoring the unity of its institutions and confronting terrorism and militia, within the framework of dialogue and negotiation between the parties concerned, and away from military escalation and violence.

In this context, the official source at the General Secretariat of the League said that the Houthi group's continued firing of missiles on Saudi territory is destroying the chances of peaceful solution to the crisis, and represents a serious violation of international peace and security and deliberate provocation to the Kingdom in order to ignite the situation and prolong the suffering of the Yemeni people, adding that the Houthi group is still Insists on serious violations of human rights in the territory it controls. In this regard, the source pointed to the death sentences issued by the group against 30 detainees last month, including university professors and activists covered by the prisoners' agreement in the Stockholm understandings, describing this behavior as a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and that it reveals the true nature of the Houthi group's practices that reflects a complete erosion of legitimacy and a waste of the values of justice and humanity.
