    Date: 25/08/2019

Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary General of the League of Arab States, telephoned Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri, during which he stressed the rejection and condemnation of repeated Israeli violations of Lebanese sovereignty. Abul-Gheit affirmed the Arab League's full solidarity with Lebanon in this delicate situation and prepared it to play its role in maintaining security, stability and civil peace in Lebanon.

An official source at the Arab League said that the Arab League, following with great interest the latest developments in Lebanon, strongly condemns the repeated Israeli violations of Lebanese sovereignty, especially in the airspace, the most recent violation that occurred yesterday evening, which resulted in the fall of two Israeli reconnaissance planes over the southern suburbs in Lebanon in flagrant violation of the decision of the Council Security 1701.

The source added that the Arab League hopes that all parties concerned will abide by the escalation and restraint in order to prevent the slide into a dangerous juncture that threatens the security and stability of Lebanon and the region.
