General Secretariat begins preparatory meetings for the 48th session of Council of Arab Youth and Sports Ministers

​The General Secretariat of the League of Arab States (Social Affairs Sector – Youth and Sports Administration, Technical Secretariat of the Council of Arab Youth and Sports Ministers), in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Iraq, is organising the meetings of the technical committees supporting the Council (Youth, Sports, and Finance) on 29 January. These meetings will be followed by the 71st session of the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Youth and Sports Ministers, scheduled for 30 January in the Republic of Iraq.

League welcomes Hanna Tetteh's appointment as head of UN Support Mission in Libya

​Gamal Roshdy, the official spokesman for Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, welcomed the decision of the United Nations Secretary-General to appoint Ms. Hanna Serwaa Tetteh as the Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Libya and head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL). He expressed the General Secretariat's confidence in Ms. Tetteh's extensive experience and her ability to lead the UN mission in fulfilling its mandate as entrusted by the Security Council.
